KATHERINE LEHNE
Emeritus President - Founder

In 1990 Katherine earned her license, founded KC Restoration and was awarded her first contract for the interior and exterior restoration of the Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles. She received her Bachelors of Art Degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles.

After 20 successful years, Katherine retired from the company in 2010 and handed over its reigns to her son and daughter.

CAROLYN LEHNE MACLEOD
President - Decorative Surfaces

Carolyn specializes in the restoration of painted surfaces, the application of decorative finishes, stenciling, gilding, color consultation and analysis, cataloging and treatment documentation.

Carolyn received her Masters Degree in the Conservation of Art with a Specialization in Painted Surfaces from the University of Canberra (Australia) in 1992. In 1988, she earned her Bachelors of Fine Art Degree from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) majoring in Art. After graduating from CSULB, she began her professional training in painting conservation under the tutelage of a well-regarded private paintings conservator, a relationship that continued after her graduation from the University of Canberra. Prior to leaving for Australia, she continued her art history studies at the University of California at Los Angeles. After completing her studies in Australia, Carolyn joined the family business to focus on the restoration of decroative surfaces.

STEVE LEHNE
President - Doors, Windows, and Architectural Wood Restoration

Steve specializes in the restoration and recreation of historic doors and windows as well as the restoration of architectural woodwork. In additional to a general contractors license and painting license, he is also certified in lead abatement.

Steve got an early start in the family painting business when his grandfather put him to work staining wood at age 8. As a third-generation painting contractor, he also has extensive experience in the full-service painting of both the interior and exterior of private, commercial and historic buildings, as well as a background in scultpure, mold-making and patinas. After studying Fine Arts at California State University, Long Beach, Steve joined his mother at the newly-formed K.C. Restoration and took on project management and supervision of the company's intial restoration projects, eventually focusing on door, window and woodwork restoration.
